Brian Pace
President
Brian Pace serves as President of Pace Development Group, Inc. and has served in the construction and development industry for over thirty years. After earning a BS in Civil Engineering from NC State University, Brian went on to pursue a career in construction in Washington, DC with Centex Construction Group. While with Centex, Brian served as a project engineer for the construction of the Leon Levine Science Research Institute located at Duke University in Durham, NC.
In 1994, he became an Unlimited NC and SC licensed general contractor and moved back to NC to join his father to form Pace Development Group in the land development and general contracting business.
Aside from helping lead the business and provide the company vision, Brian has served tirelessly in a variety of industry leadership capacities. Locally, in Charlotte, he served as a member of the Homebuilders Association of Charlotte and the North Carolina Homebuilders Association. In 2008, he served as the President of the 1200-member Charlotte HBA organization. This organization awarded him it’s highest honor as he was named the Charlotte Homebuilder Association's "Distinguished Builder of the Year".
On the state leadership level, Brian also served as President of the North Carolina Homebuilders Association organization in 2016. This organization includes over 14,000 members across the state and is the leading advocate of fighting for affordable housing in the NC General Assembly. He spent several years serving as a member of the NCHBA Executive Board and also served as Chairman for a variety of committees including the NCHBA Land Development Council and NCHBA Legislative Committee. He also served as the chair for 2016 of the North Carolina Builder Institute, which provides construction-related education and accreditations across the state. In 2017, the NCHBA awarded Brian the prestigious award for “Distinguish Builder Member of the Year”.
On a national level, Brian has served on the NAHB Executive Board in Washington, DC. Brian has served as the NC state representative to NAHB and has served on various NAHB committees including the Land Development Committee, the Environmental Issues Committee, and State Governmental Affairs Committee.
Brian is also currently serving as a member of the Corporate Board of Directors for Builders Mutual Insurance Company. Builders Mutual is recognized as one of the country’s leading insurance product providers of worker’s comp and property & casualty insurance across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions.
Brian was appointed by the Mecklenburg County Commission as a member on the Building Development Commission in 2019. This commission serves as the oversight committee of the Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement division.
In his free time, Brian is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying backpacking, golf, racquet sports, cycling and running. Brian has spent the past 25+ years of marriage to his best friend, Stacy. He considers his greatest accomplishment to be his three daughters, Allyson, Hadley, and Jessica, and enjoys being an active and proud father in their lives.
