Brian Pace

President

For Brian Pace, building communities is not just a career but a calling rooted in family, faith, and a lifelong commitment to creating places where people can thrive and families can flourish. As President of Pace Development Group, Inc., Brian has spent more than 30 years shaping the Charlotte region and beyond, carrying forward the vision and values of his own family legacy.

Brian’s path into the world of construction and development began with a degree in Civil Engineering from NC State University, followed by formative years in Washington, D.C. and Durham, NC with Centex Construction Group where he cut his teeth on many complex commercial construction projects.

In the mid-1990’s, Brian joined his father, Stephen Pace, to form Pace Development Group, and together they transformed the company into one of the region’s most trusted names in land development and general construction. From small infill neighborhoods to large scale master-planned communities, from high-end custom homes to large neighborhood-centric amenity centers, the Pace name has become synonymous with integrity, quality, and community stewardship.

A Leader Beyond His Company

Brian’s influence has reached far beyond the many projects bearing his company’s name. In 2008, he served as President of the Home Builders Association of Charlotte, where his peers recognized him with their highest honor, Distinguished Builder of the Year. His leadership continued statewide, where in 2016 he served as President of the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA), representing more than 16,000 members across NC. During his tenure, he pushed for housing affordability in the General Assembly and advanced initiatives in land development, legislative affairs, and professional education. He was also honored by the NCHBA as their Distinguished Builder Member of the Year. Nationally, Brian has also represented North Carolina on the NAHB Executive Board in Washington, D.C., lending his expertise on committees focused on land development, environmental issues, and state governmental affairs.

Today, he continues to shape the industry through his service on the Corporate Board of Directors for Builders Mutual Insurance Company and as a director on Mecklenburg County’s Building Development Commission, providing oversight of the county’s code enforcement division.  He also is a member of the Charlotte Water Developer Liaison Committee, which helps to guide the policy making decisions of the largest utility provider in the state of NC.

Grounded in Family and Faith

For all his professional accomplishments, Brian is quick to point out that his proudest role has nothing to do with boardrooms or building sites. He and his wife, Stacy, celebrated 30 years of marriage in 2025, and together they have raised three daughters, Allyson, Hadley, and Jessica, whom they consider to be their greatest life achievements.

Outside the office, Brian is an avid outdoorsman who finds joy in backpacking, golf, racquet sports, and running. But it is his family and faith that grounds him, shaping not only his personal life but also the culture of Pace Development Group.

“Family is always first,” Brian often shares, and this is a principle that has guided his company from its founding to the present day. Under his leadership, Pace Development Group remains more than a business; it is a family-driven enterprise committed to building the area’s most desired communities and homes.

Looking Ahead

As the Charlotte region continues to grow, Brian sees the challenges and opportunities of balancing progress with preservation. His vision is clear: to continue creating neighborhoods that are not just places to live, but places to belong. In doing so, he honors his family’s legacy while ensuring that Pace Development Group remains a cornerstone of the homebuilding, construction and development community for generations to come.
