Brian Pace

Brian Pace is one of the principals in Pace Development Group, Inc. and has served in the construction and development industry for over twenty years. After earning his BS in Civil Engineering from NC State University in 1992, Brian went on to pursue a career in construction in Washington, DC with Centex Construction.  While with Centex, Brian served as a project engineer for the construction of the Leon Levine Science Research Institute located at Duke University in Durham, NC.

In 1994, he became a NC licensed general contractor and moved back to NC to join Pace Development Group in the land development business.    

Aside from helping lead the business, Brian has served tirelessly in a variety of industry leadership capacities. Locally, in Charlotte, he has served as a member of the Homebuilders Association of Charlotte and the North Carolina Homebuilders Association. In 2008, he served as the President of the 1200-member Charlotte HBA organization. Under his years of leadership at the HBAC, he also helped to form the first Homebuilders Care Council, oversaw the formation of the Green Building Council, and helped to successfully guide the association through one it's most challenging years. He is most proud to have helped develop several charitable outreach projects, including the Homebuilders Care council's construction of several Habitat for Humanity homes between 1999 and 2002, and assisting in the construction of "Classroom Central" for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.   

In 2002, Brian was the recipient of the Charlotte Homebuilder Association's "Distinguished Builder of the Year" award. In 2001, he was named one of the Charlotte Business Journal's "40 under 40." 

On a state level, Brian recently finished serving as the President in 2016 of the North Carolina Homebuilders Association organization. This organization includes over 14,000 members across the state and is the leading advocate of affordable housing in the NC General Assembly.  See the latest article regarding Brian’s term as president in the latest edition of the North Carolina Builder Magazine. He has spent the last 5 years serving as a member of the NCHBA Executive Board and has also served as Chairman for variety of committees including the NCHBA Land Development Council and NCHBA Legislative Committee.  He is also serving as the current chair for 2016 of the North Carolina Builder Institute, which provides construction-related education and accreditations across the state. 

Brian currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Builders Mutual Insurance Company.  Builders Mutual is one of the leading insurance product providers of workers comp and property & casualty insurance across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. 

On a national level, Brian is a current member of the NAHB Executive Board in Washington, DC. As a member of this board, Brian is currently serving as the state representative to NAHB. He also serves on several NAHB committees including the Land Development Committee, the Environmental Issues Committee, and the Land Use Policy Sub-Committee.

Brian was also appointed by the Mecklenburg County Commission to serve on the Environmental Protection Commission in 2000. 

In his free time, Brian is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying backpacking, golf, cycling and running, and is an active musician in his church as well. Brian has spent the past 20+ years of marriage to his best friend, Stacy.  He considers his greatest accomplishment to be his three daughters, Allyson, Hadley, and Jessica, and enjoys being an active and proud father in their lives.
